My 6 Dollar Pepper Ghost

Well, ok, when all is said and done, it's probably gonna cost
9 or 10 dollars, but close enough!  I've always wanted to make
a large peppers ghost for my haunt, but the cost of a large sheet
of plexiglass was out of the question.  The price of a large piece of
glass is just insane!  I then read an article about building one using a piece
of plastic!  Sorry, I don't remember where I got it from.

I started by building a frame, it's somewhere in the vicinity of
80" X 88" give or take.  It's kinda wobbly, but it works...

Ya need to paint it everyones favorite color...
Flat Black

Get yourself some storm window film.  The kind that shrinks a little
when you use a hair dryer on it.  This was 6 bucks.

Put the plastic on the frame...  I used duct tape to hold
the plastic to the frame, as I didn't have any double sided
tape.

Here it is after the hair dryer treatment...  I was a little concerned
about the creases from the folding that were still visible, and there
were a couple of tiny holes.  But after some testing during the night,
in light levels appropriate to this effect,  I found out I
have nothing to worry about, it works great!!!  It's not Disney's
Haunted Mansion, but for 6 bucks, who's complaining?

Here's a feeble attempt at taking a picture of the illusion with my cheap camera.
Looks better in person.

Here's the spooky ghost apparition wearing a 5 dollar wig, and one of my
wife's dress. The plastic tarp reflects a little of the light, not making the illusion all it
could be, but it's good enough!  I've got the ok from my boss (wife) to
paint the walls of the garage flat black for next year!  WoooHooo!

Have fun!
